Embracing The Ice Bath! 🧊🛁
We’ve always disliked the cold water so very much and had so much resistance around embracing the dreaded ice bath doing the rounds on the wellness wagon. After researching and understanding the enormous list of potential benefits we pushed ourselves and now the Havanna Team are converted. The sudden blast of cold water literally floods your body with endorphins which are those feel good neurotransmitters; aka legal highs. They also reduce pain and inflammation. Something so many of us are experiencing.
Fast forward to today and we absolutely love them. They make us feel so good, happy and euphoric for hours after and that’s exactly why we have them at Havanna. We want you to experience the same benefits.
Tony Robbins talked about how he embraced the cold by focusing on his mindset. He said not to give your pain a voice and before you enter the cold repeat “I feel outstanding” to use the power of words. It’s natural to feel uncomfortable when you first enter the cold, we feel this every single time we enter the ice bath too. What we have learned through experience is that it is best to completely surrender to the water, know that we cannot fight. We do not negotiate with our goal of having a cold water session.
When you get in, you get right in. Breathe out, relax and surrender. We can do hard things and build that grit muscle. It truly is an opportunity to train your mind to be in charge of your body which we find extremely empowering in all areas of our lives.
It is amazing what we can achieve when we are committed to something. We also know how amazing we feel post plunge and remind ourselves of the impact that decision will have on the rest of our day.
